Light Catchers

Of Purified Desires

(Part 3: Exploring the Mysteries of our Reality)

Desires are the progenitors of creation.

The defining attribute of a soul of divinity, one reflecting the likeness of our Creator, is receiving, experiencing and giving divine love. Thus, an essential aspect of a metamorphosis into this divine soul, who exudes this eternal light, is desiring this love.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, we can’t love perfectly, or divinely, with our current false self-judging consciousness. However, we can desire this love in our current state. I believe the formulation of this desire is a part of the purpose of our current state; a desire that couldn’t manifest as it needs to without the experience of imperfection.

Pure desires are ones that reflect the characteristics of divine love. They produce a soul condition within us that is a necessary creative element that precedes becoming one with the divine consciousness of our Creator, which gives us the ability to love perfectly. So, though desire may seem like an insignificant aspiration, it’s of infinite value and power. Thus, desire formation and refinement is a pivotal part of our soul’s development.

The Path of a Light Catcher

Personally, possessing an increasing desire to love divinely is coming through many lessons of experiencing my own brokenness, pain and the pain I caused others, while being instructed in the nature of divine love through my conversational prayer life. The conglomeration of these experiences and teachings ignited a desire to sincerely love that grew into a desire to love … perfectly, and this desire continues to expand. It wasn’t one moment, but many moments strung together, because as truth builds, so does the love it reflects.

When our soul sparks with the desire for divine love, then as I’ve stated before, a guiding question to our situations and interactions is what would divine love do or how would I want to be loved? As we continually probe for the answer to these questions, we are schooled by our individualized reflective reality. This creates a fire of refinement that purifies our desires. And it’s our desire for this love that keeps this fire burning until all our desires are aligned to the nature of divine love and we gain a prismatic soul that can catch the light of God.

In response to this inquiry, a still small voice from within that we’ve heard throughout our lives (which we’ve labeled many terms depending on our belief system) begins to impress upon us the nature of divine love. It isn’t that we know exactly how to act, but the motive in which we act becomes refined and purified. Through this instruction, we learn about the characteristics of divine love. And these lessons touch every aspect of our lives because love and truth affects everything.

At times my false self-judging mind creates a deafening static that inhibits my ability to hear this whispering voice, but as its rants are quieted, the voice-like impressions come through. This inquiry into divine love serves as a plummet line into truth that grows ever more refined as we learn the nature of this sacred love.

Characteristics of Divine Love; the Everlasting Light

When the various attributes and their variations of divine love flow in unison, they manifest the singular harmonious vibration of divine love. If one is absent or not present in its fullness then it isn’t divine love.

These characteristics contain many layers, infinite expressions, and truths. Some of its characteristics are it’s always 1. longsuffering 2. kind and gentle 3. humble and confident 4. courageous and with no fear 5. honoring of all 6. constant, consuming, and all-encompassing 7. healing and forgiving 8. giving and nurturing 9. merciful 10. trustworthy, honest, and faithful 11. abundant 12. of divine judgment. It loves perfectly at all times to all entities of creation. It excludes no one or nothing. This love moves through us from its Source. It isn’t self-generated. It is the light of God.

When we are guided by the desire to love, we discover our desires are tainted with a multitude of features contrary to this love. Our desires, intentions, and motivations are teeming with grudges, retribution, resentment, ill-judgment, bitterness, selfish-ambitions, worthlessness, apathy, un-forgiveness, and lack of mercy toward others and ourselves. In certain situations or with certain people, we don’t want to be gentle and kind. We don’t want to honor all, but revel in self-exaltation. We don’t want to be longsuffering, but we want what we want now. We are controlled by fear and control with fear. Our love is fleeting, inconsistent, and temperamental. We inflate our pride to mask our insecurities. We take instead of give. We manipulate and are unfaithful. We hurt others for our benefit. This is where this path gets very difficult. Every jot and tittle of our soul is highlighted in this purification process as we face the likeness of a “dead” soul, one that lacks divine love, head on. And as the light of refinement grows brighter, nothing remains hidden.

As ugly as these traits can become, they are but the cries of our own pains and wounds. So when someone is acting this way to you, know it is his or her pain talking, thus to love them is the answer in a way that honors you, them and others. Everything we experience in this “fabricated-self” serves to teach us. It’s all purposeful.

This love-fire continues to burn until we are left with a consuming desire to always love with all our being; heart, soul, mind and strength all of creation, the instruction of our Teacher. Our lives start to reflect a shadow of this desire, though the ability to divinely love hasn’t manifested. This lack of manifestation can be frustrating, discouraging, and painful especially as our desire to love continues to intensify. The more we learn of this love, the more we desire it. This desire creates an intense hunger and thirst in our soul for the divine consciousness (righteousness) that makes divine love possible.

Though a trying journey, the sighs of divine love keep pushing and carrying me along and encouraging my soul. In this, I find reprieve because its very nature assures me that I will one day bear its likeness, for those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled. What a beautiful promise.

With a desire to divinely love, our soul embarks upon this refining path that runs immensely deep and incalculably vast. Every iota of our soul becomes aligned in its desires to the nature of divine love. This creates a soul condition that enables us to connect to the divine consciousness and to give of its love. In this oneness, we become expressions of truth, for love is the expression of truth. Truth of who we are, who God is, who others are, how creation functions, what our purpose is, and how we operate. Thus, the most cogent path to truth is through the understanding and growing awareness of divine love, the plummet line into truth. And as we experience an inner change of our desires for all that is pure, beautiful and of divine love, our own soul testifies to us that we are encountering the realm of truth.

In this purity, our soul gains a prismatic quality that can catch the everlasting light, our Creator’s divine consciousness, and we our on our way to becoming Light Catchers.

Reflective Realities

Reflective Realities

(Part 2: Exploring the Mysteries of our Reality)

Reality is a mirror of the soul.

Our shared reality is the human soul’s mirror.

Our personal reality is our soul’s mirror.

Both are our teachers.

A dynamic interplay resides between our soul and our experiential reality.

Our soul is like a kaleidoscope. The soul gives form to our consciousness so that we can possess individuality, like the individual designs seen through a kaleidoscope. The energy manifested from our unique designs creates our spirit, which is our “substance” in creation. Every belief, thought, perception, desire, emotion, act, and time-based judgment contains an energetic property to it. The sum of these is our overall energetic character or spirit. We contemplate the soul, but we experience the spirit.

Our personal reality is a mirror of our kaleidoscopic soul. Just as we look into a mirror and see the many aspects of our physical reflection, when we look at our reality, we can see the many aspects of our soul’s reflection. The latter is more difficult to observe for the “untrained eye”. But with observation and meditation upon this dynamic, we start to see the many connections between our soul and our reality. If we change our physical appearance, the mirror will reveal it. If we change our soul’s appearance, our reality will reveal it. Though changes in our soul may not produce what we expect because one change affects the whole, like a change in a kaleidoscope affects the entire pattern in ways not anticipated.

This interplay is echoed in the concepts of karma and you reap what you sow. It’s the understanding that powers the “self-help” movement; change yourself to change your reality. For those willing to learn, our realities are great teachers. But as we learn and grow, we encounter an insurmountable limitation; our false self-judging consciousness that governs our soul. In these posts, I’ll be sharing my exploratory experience of what a soul goes through to overcome this limitation, thus become a soul of divinity.

Reality – The Soul’s Reflection

Right now our life or reflective reality mirrors the sum effect of every judgment we’ve made, yes or no. Where we live, our lifestyle, our religion, our habits and our health. If we have a job, spouse, and/or children, and the nature of these relationships. What we eat, drink, and wear. Every aspect of our lives down to our thoughts is affected by our judgments, choices and decisions. And every aspect has an energetic vibration that sends ripples into our reality, which also influences our shared reality. Mingled into these effects are elements like divine mercy, intercessory prayer, the plethora of energetic vibrations of creation, and the current state of the human consciousness as a whole. The interworking of our judgments and these other influences creates our reflective reality.

With every perception, we are constantly judging, choosing and responding to what we perceive, which is constantly altering our kaleidoscope and its expression. We impact reality and what our reality reflects back impacts our next spin.

It’s enlightening to contemplate how our personal reality is the cloak of our individual judgments. When confronted honestly, it leaves no room for blame. But it also reveals the creative aspect of our soul. We are creators. And our main creation is ourselves.

The Fabricated Self

We all are “self-made”, with mercy in the mix, to a significant degree. Upon birth, we receive the raw materials for our soul’s journey; gender, race, aspects of our parent’s spirits, our birth year, etc. and then our self-contained judgments build upon them. Each one of us is living out a specific series of potentials based on these judgments that are networked into our purposes and individuality, like the interwoven design of a kaleidoscopic image.

Our reflective reality reveals this “self-made” aspect of our mortal experience. And as we consider its reflection we observe there are many inherent problems with being “self-made”, which is a key reason we are experiencing it. At profound levels I’m learning that being “self-made” isn’t what I desire at all, but to be entirely divinely made, thus to be divinely governed. In a “self-made” mode, we forfeit all of the characteristics that make us truly alive; divine love, truth, individuality, true freedom, rest, endless joy, to name a few. If only Eve knew this in the garden, yet how could she without this experience?

Through our self-driven judgments, we create a “fabricated” version of ourselves. Our fabricated-self is the reflection of our soul that we experience while we are governed by the false self-judging consciousness. With this consciousness at the helm, our soul is governed by erroneous relative truths. These distorted constructs mesh together and create our individual expression. It’s a fabricated-self created by our false self-judging consciousness that manifests a false reflection of who we are. It’s not who we truly are because it is based on lies about who we are. It’s quite the conundrum.

These distortions in our perceptions create a contorted reality that perpetuates our erroneous judgments. Our “self-made” creation of our self-driven will creates a world of problems. This fabricated-self muddies every reflection in our reality; how we perceive ourselves, others, our relationships, our work, our purpose, our situations, our reality, and our Creator.

This fabricated-self is why there are SO Many different images of God. Our soul jades every perception, including our perception of God. All these perceptions remain muddled until we begin a soul journey of knowing the Truth, thus divine love.

As truth begins to enlighten our soul like splashes of light on our muddled kaleidoscope, our perceptions slowly start to align to truth. Instead of being solely influenced by the revolving dynamic of the false self-judging consciousness and our reflective reality, we are introducing a new element, divine consciousness. As we extend our soul through conversational prayer into the realm of divine consciousness, our consciousness is influenced by this divine consciousness and truth starts to seep in. The truth begins to replace the lies thus the illusions created by our fabricated-self.

This is the beginning of our journey of transforming from a fabricated-self into a divine-self. This temporary mortal realm, in which we experience the “self-made” reflection, serves an essential role in our evolution into souls of divinity. We will always create a reflective reality because our soul is a creative entity. But instead of a false self-judging consciousness at the helm, we will be governed by the divine consciousness. Through this governance, perfect judgment flows through us as if our own. Our reflective reality becomes one of light, life and love and no longer of darkness, death and the absence of a true love. Thus, our cloak reflects many brilliant colors coming from our kaleidoscopic soul of divinity. So though our soul begins as a black and white kaleidoscopic design, it becomes a soul reflecting a cornucopia of rainbows.

Muddy Puddles

Muddy Puddles

The False Self-Judging Consciousness

(Exploring the Mysteries of our Reality)

The foundations of our experiential reality are shaped by the conditions of the human soul. Thus, understanding the human soul reveals the mysteries that lie within these foundations; mysteries such as why we are here, why our reality is as it is, and what our purpose is as a whole and as an individual. And how we come to know this “unknown” God of divine love, who is a God of the living and not the dead.

Contemplations of these mysteries have filled the minds of philosophers, mystics, spiritualists, religions, and scientists. In our present soul condition, we each possess our own perception of reality because of how we currently interact with relative truth. But if we step back we can see threads of truth running through the truly contemplative minds, which I find intriguing.

How we perceive truth will always be relative to us to some extent because it flows through our individuality. However, our relative truth can either be moving into alignment with the Truth or keeping us bound to illusions. Anything observed by us comes through our current perspectives. So the moment we “observe” we are interpreting. For example, to look at our reality from an energetic level versus what we see with the naked eye creates two very different observations, thus interpretations. These observations produce different assumptions, thus affecting our responses to what we observe.

So truth is truth, but our interpretations vary and our interpretations can make what we perceive a lie or a hazy version of the truth. It’s my belief that we come to the hazy version of truth by learning from the Spirit of Truth and Love of our divine Creator, for this Spirit is the only one with the full perspective. And as we continue to learn, the haze slowly diminishes. An exceedingly precious gift to each of us is that we each have access to this Spirit, through our innermost soul, the door through which we encounter eternity, thus the truly real.

So understanding that there is always more to learn that deepens and clarifies our “understanding”, I want to share some of what I’m starting to perceive of these mysteries. The significance of exploring these foundations is that a deepening understanding helps to clarify our purpose, our soul’s journey and thus how to navigate this experiential reality. It helps to clear up the muddy puddles created by our present “governing” consciousness.

Upon our soul’s incarnation into this mortal realm through our physical birth, our soul was encapsulated in what I call a false self-judging consciousness. It’s what governs our individual realities.

First, our consciousness is dynamic. It’s our total awareness at any one moment that is always in a state of change, to some degree, for everything affects or influences our consciousness. Our current awareness creates our current perceptions and our perceptions create how we “observe” life and thus act within it and respond to it. Thus, it is what governs us. It’s the ever-changing summation of every belief, thought, perception, desire, emotion, and time-bound judgment that all work together to create our individual expression.

Second, it’s self-judging. We each separately think on and judge our reality according to the makeup of our particular consciousness. It’s like we each are a computer with our own operating system running its own programs according to its own definitions of what is good or not. Out of this individualized consciousness we make our own self-contained judgments every moment of our lives. What to do or not to do, what is good or not good, what is right or what is wrong. Its operating system is the self-driven “free” will that chooses between the options presented, yes or no, like a computer’s 1s and 0s.

Thirdly, it’s false. These judgments that we make come from our limited and finite mind that only knows what it has experienced. It is a mind full of error and perhaps some hazy truth, but a little mud muddles the whole puddle. Because it is coming from our limited little self, its judgments are always in error to some degree. We may think we are smart and make good decisions but as we grow in the understanding of a divine consciousness to contrast our own by, we realize our perceptions function in an isolation that creates disharmony in ways we never considered or suspected. This understanding manifests a profound humility no matter how much you know. It’s a consciousness that is complicated, cavernous, complex, contradictory, and confounded.

Though we act from the limited isolated views of a finite mind, our actions effect all of creation. So every judgment we make sends out ripple effects into creation. Our essence is energy, which knows no boundaries. As energy, we are continuously sending out ripple effects and as we are governed by this self-judging consciousness, though some of the ripples may appear good, they are also full of error. It’s impossible for us to judge correctly because we lack the perspective we need. We are not an all-knowing creation, but quite the opposite. This limitation is a characteristic of a self-driven “free” will or “individualized” will, in which we choose this way or that, yes or no.

This false self-judging consciousness rules and governs each one of us. Even though we may feel we are making a “free” choice, we only have the capacity to choose according to what our cumulative consciousness up to this point will choose, so what we call free is actually bondage to the current state of our particular false self-judging consciousness. Thus, “free” will is an illusion. We are bound by and to our false self-judging consciousness, and this is what governs us. It is the “god” of this transitory reality, for it governs this reality because it governs the human soul.

BUT, this transitory consciousness serves a very important purpose. It is creating within our soul a foundation upon which we can exist in eternity in divine love with a true and eternal freedom. It is a critical component of our soul’s journey to becoming a soul of divinity. It serves to instill into our soul truths and desires we couldn’t possess otherwise. So there are significant purposes to abiding, for a season, in this false self-judging consciousness.

So, though our current soul state is governed by this temporary “simulated” consciousness it is housed in the all-encompassing consciousness of a divine Creator. So, as we pull back or go deeper for a bigger perspective, we see there is much more than what meets the naked eye, and the mysteries start to unravel.

This is the beginning … more next time.
