Matthew 13:14-15
And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’
Matthew 6:22-23
The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. “But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Hi Rachel, EW here! The point of understanding God’s will, as you portriat, is where I am trying to reach. Not to give a hard-luck story, but a way of life that I was born into, made me have no trust in anything. After returning from what the government called “a police action” and the American people called “the only war America ever lost”, then having terminally ill children, I begin to think,”what is the reason for even trying to maintain an existance”. —From my earliest memories, I have always known there has to be a power far greater than anything I have encountered on earth. At the point of ending everything, I began to speak from my mind, “if there is a true God of all things, then You will have to show me truth!” —From that moment, scripture & history began coming to my memory like a bank-full river. Then I read where, from the moment Daniel set his mind to understand & know God, his words were heard. Then I read where Jesus said He would send the Holy Counselor & He would bring into your remembrance everything I have said. —The point is, I know God draws us to Him in many differant ways, I happen to be another hard core Thomas, but God took a long road to draw me in & thank Jesus for opening my eyes & ears. Prophecy-fulfillment is God’s proof of HisSelf! Rachel, I know the things you speak of, is God’s blessing for beleiving & I do claim it to a small degree! —Could there possibly be ground between your feeling in the Lord & that of mine?

Hi EW … one thing we all share .. the blindness. And one thing some of us are starting to share … healing from that blindness as our eyes start to open to the truth. To awaken .. I think most have to come to a point as you did, I know I certainly did .. where you start to see the depravity of this world .. and you want to give it all up for something more .. then you start truly seeking for the truth. That desire is a tremendous gift; to have a higher hope, because for those who truly seek in truth and love will find.
