Masquerading as Voice of Truth
Most people believe they can detect a lying spirit, but given the abundance of religions and denominations in those religions … we better take another look at our surety in this matter.
Proverbs 14:15 The simple believes every word, But the prudent considers well his steps.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 Timothy 4:2 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,
We are to believe God’s words to us from His Holy Spirit above ALL others’ words. Do you do this? Do you spend time with God listening and learning from His Spirit to be able to place His words of life above all others?
If you do, it’s your greatest defense and protection. It will lead you down paths of life (rest, peace, joy and righteous love).
If you don’t, it’s your greatest downfall. It will lead you down paths of hardship, affliction, pain and suffering.
What does your life reveal about what path you are on? Your life is your testimony.
Sovereignty of God’s Words
In abiding in the sovereignty of God’s words, I’m not talking about your pastor or favorite teacher giving their opinions about God’s Word and truth. I’m talking about what YOU have learned YOURSELF from God directly about God, you, others, His truths, and this world.
Make a list of your beliefs. Then next to them write where you learned that belief from (e.g. heaven, hell, salvation, end times, anti-christ, surrender, worship, service to God, relationship to God, love, forgiveness). You should be moving to learning from God Himself in all things. 1 John 2:27
We are to put God’s words to us; words spoken to our spirit by the Holy Spirit above all others regardless of what “authority” or position they hold in this world. God desires to lead us down the paths of life, but if don’t heed His word above all others we won’t travel very far with Him. Putting other’s words first can and often does lead to great bondage and damage to our souls. For this reason, we have the Holy Spirit. But our part is to listen to and follow Him.
When it comes to God, we’ve been ill-taught to rely on others in a way we were never meant to. We put people in authority and put their words over the promptings of our heart. We put the masses concepts of God over seeking to know Him as He is from God Himself. Surely that many people can’t be wrong … really? Mark 13:22
Especially in these days, if we haven’t developed a strong connection with the source of truth we have a high propensity to be greatly led astray. 2 Thess 2:10
Masquerade as Angel of light
It’s easy for Satan to masquerade as an angel of light; to mimic the words and appearances of what we deem good and loving, for he has manufactured those images. 2 Corinthians 11:14 He is the designer of the sheep’s clothing and over the thousands of years has gotten quite good at it; the external humble, loving, and good person.
If we don’t have a solid foundation of truth and built our house (soul) upon the Rock, it will be easy to fool us for he knows the scriptures better than most professing believers who spend very little time seeking and learning from the Holy Spirit. He knows how to twist them just enough to keep us blinded and sending us into bondage. Scriptures people don’t know because haven’t been taught them one-on-one by the Holy Spirit. The very words that can free us if we would trust God to teach us, he uses to bind us with a few twists and misinterpretations. He has created false doctrines. He has created a false image of God; how to serve Him, worship Him, and how He works. Question is, if you haven’t sought to know about God from God Himself, then who do you really know and worship? He gives signs and wonders, like healings, to misled people and more deeply ensnare them into his doctrines of death.
Some masqueraders are caught in their hypocrisy, but many continue to mislead because those listening to them lack a love for truth and thus fall for their false doctrines that keep them bound in lies and out of abundant life.
Beware of the images you hold of “godly” people, and putting your trust in them because of that image. Instead seek to know God as He is and His truth.

it amazes me how much the mainstream churches dont teach The Old Testament,.. i suppose if they did more people would wake up,open their ears and hear His Voice,..most Christians i speak to, have little knowledge of The Bible New Testament never mind The Old,and seem to take the attitude The Old Testament is Irrelevant ..and never come to realize the Son that came as The Messiah/The Word,..was The Voice/The Word in The Burning Bush,..they never grasp the point He Spoke as Just a Voice from The Fire at Horeb,.FOR A VERY SPECIFIC REASON!,..but He appeared in person, face to face, to most of the named Israelite leaders of Old, Abraham,Isaac,Jacob,Moses Aaron, king David, Solomon,Daniel etc
..every single Word Written/Spoken to The fathers, kings and prophets in The Old Testament goes Totally in Harmony with the Word of The Word that appeared in Flesh in The New,..and so relevant to the times we live and the times immediately ahead.
He was Sent to His ‘Lost Sheep’…..theres only One Way Back,..its finding His Voice, learning it, and what He Said!,..theres only one way to do it,..its with your whole mind heard and spirit to seek The Truth, through The One and Only Holy Spirit!
Deut 4
15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire
John 10:14
I am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of mine.
john 10:27
My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:16
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My Voice; and there shall be one fold, and One Shepherd.
John 10:26
But ye believe not, because ye are NOT of My Sheep, as I said unto you.
Exodus 19:5
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then
ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Jeremiah 11:4
Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
and if in any doubt,..The New Testament leaves you in no doubt WHO lead and was with Israelite s the WHOLE time from leaving Egypt, through the Red Sea,..and in The Wilderness for 40 years
1 Corinthians 10
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was The Messiah
find This Rock, sit on it,dont get of it,..and eat and drink from it ONLY!

Hi Luke! Thanks for dropping by! I\’m a nohtrerner now – we should meet up!Fair point about the second summary and the problem of guilt. I agree. I suppose \”dealt with\” should be expanded to make clear that both the guilt and the sinfulness need to be dealt with. Also agree about multiple ways of summarising the gospel. But I suppose my concern is that I often hear the gospel summarised in the same kind of way, something not unlike my Summary 1.\”Earth\” was deliberate, as it happens! I know it\’s unconventional, but would you say I should have put \”heaven\” instead?

Thank you for writing about this Rachel. God bless you & yours. May His works and wisdom continue to flow through you into your writings.

Hi Denny – it’s such an important dynamic to be aware of for our souls sake and that of others.

The lack of revelation
of the grace and mercy
and love of God makes God’s
people feel they don’t qualify
to receive their inheritance.
The inheritance Jesus left us –
the realm of the Spirit, the
supernatural realm, the angels,
and heavenly visitations –
are meant to be a normal part
of our lives.
He wants us full of His light and
carried away by His love and His
sweetness. He desires for us to be
strong in the spirit, taking dominion
over the powers of darkness, yet at
the same time totally enamoured
by His beauty.

Beautiful.

Thank you for always encouraging us to go to God, to His word, for ourselves, and explaining why we need to! Such a blessing! God bless you as you keep before Him!

Hi Debbie … it amazed me as I started to truly learn from God .. how often I put the words of others over His .. even now sometimes I do that. But He is so faithful to show me and deliver me from that bondage. He has the words of life. 🙂

I am encouraged and glad to see that your first point was about the Holy spirit, He was promised to lead us into all truth, yet we have a church at large that doesn’t rely on Him for that.
We all need to go to the school of the Holy spirit….
God bless

that are good and you brought them out, too. I find it initnesterg the emphasis in other places on taking the scripture for just what it says and then it is okay here to really stretch it to fit her idea of how it happened. I am a scripturalist, myself, and if it says that both male and female were created on the 6th day then they were created on the 6th day. I really have trouble with the gap theory, too. It is just a theory and not necessarily a very good one.Personally, I don’t think that dominance and control are necessarily good manly traits. Yes, men have a tendency to do that, but it is supposed to be a quality of leadership when in Messiah and not of controlling and having dominance over other people. That is the sinful expression of how YHWH made men. All the times that those in leadership are exhorted to not lord it over others shows Father’s heart on the matter. Yeshua shows a pattern of servant-leadership and that is what a man is to desire. Not only a man is to desire that but women, also, in the spheres of leadership YHWH gives to them. None of us are to lord our authority over others. I can tell you that my Messiah does not do that. He beseeches me, He entreats me, He calls me to reason together with Him. He does not strong arm me and expect me to comply to being strong-armed. He brings me to repentance by His goodness to me. Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? (Rom 2:4)I can say that this is giving my husband and myself many opportunities for discussion. He was reading chapter 5 last night and got quite angry at it about 3 pages into it. He hasn’t gone beyond that (yet). I have been printing off your commentary and discussion here for him to read and he appreciates the voice of reason. My husband is quite a studier of people and his observation of what Debi has written is that her perception of her husband is hidden in the things she uses to describe men such as the garbage incident (which he was aghast at) and this quote A woman’s calling is not easy. To allow someone else to control your life is much harder than taking control of it yourself. It can be a challenge, even for veteran wives. Don’t despair. With wisdom from on high, you can be the woman God uses, if not to change that old man into a wonderful fellow, then at least to ease your own burden and become a heavenly bride fit for the Son of God himself His observation is that she is calling her husband that old man. He also had a problem with her veteran wives statement as it shows her view of herself as a veteran wife and shows a position of pride. I really saw that myself yesterday as I was thinking on all of this. Her prime examples of how to do things is her own reaction to her own husband. She sets herself up as the authority on how to be a good wife because she has done such a good job with her old man. Another thought here is that we are not the changers of our husbands by our submission to them. Our submission is unto the One who made us and who we will give account for our own life and choices someday. He is the One to whom we are to yield control of our lives. When we do that we also yield the desire to control our husbands to the One who knows best how to deal with them. He is the One who is conforming them, and us, into the image of our Messiah Yeshua(Jesus). It is a dangerous precedent to put our husbands into the place of YHWH in our lives. We are only to bow down to Him and we are to reverence and respect our husbands and in that we are to choose to subject ourselves to their leadership. You have brought up in many places here already that our necessity is to seek His face and to hear His voice through His set-apart(Holy) Spirit and follow His leading. It will not look the same in each husband-wife relationship. We are not made with the same cookie-cutter and our Father delights in the variety of His creation. I really have problem with formula teachings and this a prime example. I know from personal experience that formulas don’t work. I have bought into that concept enough in the past and it has caused more harm than good as it does not take into account the differences in people, where they are on their journey with Father, or the circumstances of their lives. My best advice to anyone now is to seek His face, to hear His voice and to obey what He shows you.Love and shalom,Serena
