True Sabbath Rest

Matthew 18:3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”

The result of our salvation and redemption; to be sons of God; and in that is great rest. Ezekiel 20:12

  1. Rachel,
Facing huge changes right now; City, lifestyle, contacts and so much more.

Having a Father who is all knowing, all seeing, forever watching me, – His child – is very assuring.
A 60 year old child? Mmmm! Gee! it’s hard breaking long term habits picked up over the years. (am working on it).

Trusting in our relationship as Father and child makes it worth persuing huh!. Especially when it’s immersed in love, security, peace and communication.

    Timely article. Thanks.

  2. I would like to share with you a personnal experience that relate to your subject, true sabbath rest.
I was on a cruise many years ago, in the carrabean, in the morning, I was having my breakfast outside on the sundeck, at the back side of the boat were you can see it jet stream, it was a beautiful day , pure blue sky without a cloud, perfect sun, warm temperature 85 deg. farenheit , around 9:30 in the morning, no wind at all, it was quiet and peacefull, the only sound you could hear was a very soft and relaxing noise produce by the propulsion of the boat. The ocean was like infinite, everywere around, clear crystal and turqoise with some intensify green, the see was almost like a mirror , and you could see all sort of fish swimming under the water at different depth. When I was looking at the jet stream and listening to the peacefull sound, looking far away toward the horizon still seeing the jet stream it almost look like if it was infinite in a way continuous and being constantly regenerated behind the boat, and this panorama as a whole, could be perceived as a peacefull, calm, powerfull and kindness spiritual reality that regenerate itself for eternity. So today when I look back at those memories, I extend that panorama as being a representation of a true sabbath rest, there is a sense of perfection, inner peace, calm, a gigentic power that embrace you, protect, nurture and regenerate you for eternity.
    God blessed you always.

    • Hi Peter – this was beautifully written .. your last sentence was so powerful.

“I extend that panorama as being a representation of a true sabbath rest, there is a sense of perfection, inner peace, calm, a gigentic power that embrace you, protect, nurture and regenerate you for eternity.”

The goal is to always to abide in that rest and peace … which comes from knowing our Father’s love for us and how very real it is in affecting and changing our lives.

  3. Amen & Amen to your perception! E W here, as long as I keep this perception in mind I do well with the Lord. However, at times, I allow the cares of the world to allow me to drift away from “pray without ceasing”. This is why your bolg is so very important. Assembling ourselves togather in Jesus is a source of power to war-off the deceiver. Such as, “he shall speak words against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Most High and shall think to change the times and the law.” So strong as to fool who? Many who claim to know Jesus say all of God’s words have been done away with, or, God is no longer the same today as He was on the day of creation and He will even be different on the final day. The Lord said when we are right with Him, the Sabbath will be a delight that we will look foreward to! —Without the true perception of God in mind, I find myself pushing the ox in the ditch on Friday that I may pull him out on Saturday. Thank you Rachel for the reminder!

    • EW . .. to abide in His rest is to have peace that rules your mind and manifests in your life. It’s a peace that allows you to be like a child abiding in delight, enjoyment, and peace in his Father’s home. The rest comes from trust … and trust from knowing the love of God. It’s our highest pursuit.

  4. Unfortunately, your words sound very new age, scripture clearly states that the Sabbath is the 7th day (Saturday) and that anyone who strays from that is evil, sorry

  5. Regarding your false interpretation of scripture—our highest pursuit is to witness unto salvation and not to spend time contemplating our inner peace! Again, you sound like a new age victim,
