Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?
Talking about a true spirit of worship verses contrived worship stemming from religion and our self-will. What does God desire?
My passion is cultivating a deep relationship with God and helping others to do the same. I LOVE sharing with others insights that God has taught me and hearing what God has taught them... thus my blog, Stirring the Deep. My focus is on a relationship, not a religion. Life is in the relationship.
I believe in a balance and unity of body, mind and spirit. I feel it's important to nurture all three for they all affect each other. I try to live in the present, where the Holy Spirit is. And I try to do all with the motive of love. I've come to believe life is a journey and not a destination. It isn't about perfection, is it about growth.
Very good words. True worship is Romans 12:1-2, giving your body as a living sacrifice and not being conformed to the world but being transformed by the renewing of your mind. It’s also James 1:27, in which we are to keep ourselves unstained by the world and to care for widows and orphans (the helpless and destitute) in their distress. Thank you for sharing!
Hi – thanks for adding those verses. It is about a complete renewal of your mind to gaining the mind of Christ, which desires nothing of this corrupted world. Thus, as you draw near to God, you draw away from the ways, wisdom, and thoughts of the world.
yes, Philippians 3:7 talked about that, i never really go it, but when i eventually did, it was like a revelation n now i see some the things that used to drive me as petty now and Paul said he was able to let go of these things for the knowledge of GOD. all i can pray for is that i know more of him that gives me the conviction to drop more of this world chasing after His
Loved this Rachel! So many Christians try to bring God a song rather than a life lived under the blood! How often have I tried to substitute the former for the latter! Holy Spirit bring us into the deep!
Hi Jelillie – many try to sedate that need in their soul for true worship with moving, emotional songs. Music is beautiful and powerful … but it is to be an expression of a transformed mind and soul.

Hi, that indeed was good. A life lived for the glory of God is of far more value than a song.

Hi David, it is about the state of our deepest self for from this all things flow.

Right, and the state of our deepest self is Christ, because we are hidden in Him and He lives in us. Thanks Rachel!
