I posted a couple of videos on How to Listen to the Holy Spirit about a month or so ago. I was a bit verbose, so here is a more concise version. We’re all busy afterall 🙂
In the video I cover: 1. The importance and requirement of having a foundation of truth based on the Word of God in order to hear the Spirit’s voice 2. Steps to how to practice listening to the Holy Spirit.
My passion is cultivating a deep relationship with God and helping others to do the same. I LOVE sharing with others insights that God has taught me and hearing what God has taught them... thus my blog, Stirring the Deep. My focus is on a relationship, not a religion. Life is in the relationship.
I believe in a balance and unity of body, mind and spirit. I feel it's important to nurture all three for they all affect each other. I try to live in the present, where the Holy Spirit is. And I try to do all with the motive of love. I've come to believe life is a journey and not a destination. It isn't about perfection, is it about growth.

Thank you for your information. I have experienced some early morning (can’t sleep at 2AM) nudges from God. I am a member of the Church of Christ.
Do you know of anyone who experienced this: I have (or rather, ‘had’) a close friend whom I was supportive/caring/giving towards while I’m enduring cancer (receiving chemotherapy). The friend is moving towards the East Coast and dismissed me. He will not communicate and, you know, these days how easy that is with cell phones (he doesn’t answer my calls, nor returns them, and stopped emailing). Could this be God redirecting me or even protecting me from something? Could this be a lesson for my friend that he’ll have a need and will look for me to meet that need/to be giving? Could God want me to put more focus on him (God), even though I didn’t spend a lot of focusing on my friend? Can you elaborate on whichever question/possibility that sounds familiar from your experience or someone you know?
Hi Cynthia – I know that must be hard to have such a support and then all the sudden not. God knows your situation and He knows your need. Go to Him to seek the truth in your particular situation – because He will speak the truth of it – all else is assumptions. Know that God will supply every need. It is His promise to us, if we seek Him He will take care of the rest. Seek His face to know Him and draw near in truth and spirit and He’ll lead and guide you. He is our very Good Shepherd.
I remember watching the previous versions Rachel, and I like how you emphasize how practice is essential in listening to the Holy Spirit–no quick fixes, but invested time with our Creator.
Hi Slamdunk – you are right on point. We all want instant – but our walk and life with God is a journey that takes our devotion and time. It’s the richest time spent – for it affects all else.
